The Project
This complete renovation of a 1940s Colonial in Chevy Chase Village reimagines the home with a fresh, modern sensibility while honoring its original character. Taken down to the studs and expanded to nearly twice its size, the design introduces light-filled, connected living spaces, anchored by a new kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room, all wrapped in expansive windows. Contemporary cabinetry, warm materials, and sculptural lighting establish a refined yet inviting aesthetic.
Upstairs, the primary suite and bath were designed as serene retreats. A meaningful midcentury bench serves as a focal point in the bedroom, complemented by soft linen drapery and a calm, neutral palette. The primary bath features limestone herringbone flooring, crisp white cabinetry, and curated artwork that reinforces the tranquil atmosphere.
In the formal dining room, preserved within the home’s original footprint, classic Eames dining chairs bring a timeless touch, blending midcentury influence with the Colonial architecture. The result is a home that feels renewed, grounded, and deeply personal to its homeowners.
